Nowdays, the Shaolin Monastery is way more about tourism and showmanship than it is about military practice. Monks are excellent Wushu Taolu pratictioners, which leads to beautiful, athletic forms, but not to great fighting prowess.

WebbIt's hard to explain, but the physical training becomes the meditation. The Shaolin practices are designed to push the body to limits to free the mind.
